Worick, despite considering Nicolas a friend, is reminded by others that he is the contract holder, and Nicolas is bound to him by this context. Their past reveals the painful truth of Nicolas being seen as nothing more than a weapon.

The anime also introduces a ranking system for Twilights, adding another layer of intrigue to the plot. As the story progresses, it delves into a conspiracy of Twilight murders, a mafia war, and the emergence of the Destroyers, a group of Twilight hunters.
