Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga Episode 4: Breathtaking Twists and Turns

Video ao no exorcist season 2 episode 4

In episode 4 of Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga, titled “Act of Treachery,” we dive deeper into the complex world of exorcism and betrayal. Ryuji Suguro finds himself facing the temple’s suspicions about his father, Tatsuma Suguro. Juzo Shima discovers the guards at the Deep Keep incapacitated and is shocked to uncover the identity of the traitor. Meanwhile, Rin Okumura gains some control over his blue flames, but nearly loses it in front of everyone at the temple. Can Shura Kirigakure’s quick thinking calm their collective fear?

Trouble in the Deep Keep

Ryuji, still upset about his father’s absence from the meeting, encounters Juzo heading to the Deep Keep. As they descend into the depths, they find the guards unconscious and scattered. Juzo confronts Mamushi Hojo, who claims she helped Saburota Todo unmask the real traitors, Tatsuma and Mephisto Pheles. Above ground, Yaozo Shima, Tatsuma, and Uwabami Hojo watch the chaos unfold on surveillance cameras. As reinforcements are about to be sent, the ground begins to shake, and Tatsuma orders the Exorcists to charge into the Deep Keep.

Ryuji Confronts His Father

Rin arrives at the scene to witness Ryuji confronting his father, who refuses to disclose the secret that has been plaguing him. Anxious to go after Mamushi, Ryuji’s temper boils over, and he disowns his father. Worried about the consequences, Rin intervenes, but the argument escalates, and Rin’s blue flames begin to glow. Juzo, fearing the uncontrollable power, throws Rin back, which only worsens the situation. Kirigakure knocks Rin unconscious to prevent further chaos.

Highlights of the Episode

One of the highlights of this episode is Rin’s newfound control over his flames. He learns to focus his flame on just the tip of the wick, a realization that brings him closer to mastering his powers. Kuro, Rin’s familiar, celebrates the achievement with him. However, Rin’s emotional outburst unintentionally reveals his true identity as the son of Satan to everyone in the temple.

Another significant aspect of the episode is Mamushi’s betrayal. Although she believed she was acting in the best interest of the temple, her choices ultimately led to chaos and disappointment. Her father, Uwabami, feels the weight of her actions, and their relationship will surely be forever changed.

The Drama Unfolds

Some viewers may find this episode slow, but I personally enjoy the character-driven drama. Mamushi’s vulnerability and the manipulation she falls victim to showcase the consequences of allowing prejudice and lies to influence one’s actions. Rin, on the other hand, needs to gain better control over his emotions to succeed and protect himself. His passionate plea to Ryuji to reconcile with his father is commendable, but he fails to consider the repercussions of his revelation.

In conclusion, Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga Episode 4 is an emotionally charged installment that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The twists and turns of the plot, along with the character development, make for a captivating viewing experience. What did you think of this episode? Share your thoughts in the comments!
