I stopped paying attention to Dragon Ball after the Tournament of Power due to the intense debates that ensued. However, I couldn’t resist coming back to share this comment because it’s becoming ridiculously annoying now.

First and foremost, let me clarify something so that everything becomes crystal clear. Akira, when Battle of Gods was released, explicitly stated that he had no intentions of letting Beerus be surpassed. There is even an interview where he further explains this, but people tend to ignore that section and misinterpret his words. He didn’t mean that Beerus couldn’t be surpassed in terms of power; it’s more of a matter of status. Beerus is the God of Destruction, an authority figure in the universe, and that is his role. This is precisely why Goku will never surpass him until the far future. It’s a simple logical situation. If Beerus exists, it means he is relevant. If he were to be surpassed, he would no longer play a significant role in the series or remain a God of Destruction because, logically speaking, it would make no sense.

Just think about it for a moment. If Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, Broly, or even Android 17 were able to defeat Beerus, then he might as well retire from his job.

Now let’s move on to the arguments.

Argument 1: “Goku stated that Jiren/Broly was the strongest enemy they ever fought.”

When Goku first encountered Beerus, he didn’t even bother with fusion because he knew he stood no chance. So, I’m pretty damn sure that when Goku refers to previous enemies, he isn’t talking about Beerus; otherwise, he would have explicitly mentioned it.

Argument 2: “Ultra Instinct made the gods stand up.”

This has already been explained in canon. The gods weren’t shocked by Goku’s power but rather by how quickly he attained Ultra Instinct. It’s important to note that Goku gaining Ultra Instinct is considered utter nonsense, both within the show and outside of it.

Argument 3: “Jiren is stronger than Belmod. Belmod is stronger than Beerus.”

First of all, there are no quantifiable levels that clearly indicate how strong Jiren is in comparison to Belmod. It is possible that Jiren, at his absolute maximum, is slightly stronger than Belmod’s base form, but it’s all speculation. Furthermore, we have no idea how strong Beerus is compared to Belmod. Just because you belong to the same category doesn’t make you equal.

As a comparison, both Gogeta and Golden Frieza are classified as “Godly Level” characters, yet Frieza doesn’t even come close to Gogeta’s power.

Additionally, Beerus lost an ARM WRESTLING match. Let me emphasize that this means absolutely nothing. I go to the gym three times a week and, trust me, I’m a big guy. I could easily defeat Bruce Lee in an arm wrestling match. However, does that mean I would beat him in a fight? Hell no!

In conclusion:

Nowhere in canon has it been explicitly stated that Beerus, or any of the other gods for that matter, is weak. If that were the case, someone would have mentioned it. Whis and the angels thoroughly comment on everything. Do you honestly believe that if Goku and the others were stronger than Beerus, Whis wouldn’t mention it just to tease and provoke Beerus?

Moreover, the writers have intentionally kept Beerus away from Broly to avoid a fight between them. There is a reason behind this decision. Everything I’ve listed above is factual based on what has been shown in the show. Only when the show explicitly demonstrates Beerus being surpassed can we accept it. Until then, Beerus is still the top dog.

So, my fellow Dragon Ball fans, feel free to have your own theories and headcanons. But always remember that everything I’ve discussed above is backed by facts from the show. The day Beerus is overtaken is the day we can confirm it. Until then, he remains the undisputed champion.
