Ever since the announcement of the One Piece live action cast, fans have been buzzing with excitement! The actors chosen to portray the iconic Straw Hat Pirates seem to be a match made in heaven. Among them, Inaki Godoy shines as Monkey D. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Choosing the right actor to play Luffy was a daunting task for the showrunners and the legendary manga creator, Eiichiro Oda. They wanted someone who could capture Luffy’s energy and essence in live action. But when they found Inaki, it was like a dream come true.

“Inaki was just like the person I drew in my manga,” Eiichiro Oda said. “I intuitively thought, ‘That’s Luffy.’ I laughed when I saw his audition. He was perfect!”

Inaki Godoy is a talented Mexican actor who has made appearances in other Netflix series like The Imperfects and Who Killed Sara? His portrayal of Luffy is bound to bring the character to life in ways we’ve never seen before.

But Inaki is not the only talented actor in the cast. Mackenyu Arata embodies the deadly “Pirate Hunter” Roronoa Zoro, and Emily Rudd shines as the expert navigator and cartographer, Nami. Jacob Gibson takes on the role of Usopp, a born storyteller and sharpshooter. And Taz Skylar brings Sanji, the fashionable and talented chef, to life with his charm and flair.

Each actor in the cast has put in incredible effort to truly become their respective characters. Mackenyu’s dedication to swordplay and martial arts, Emily’s passion for the role, Jacob’s skill with the slingshot, and Taz’s months of training for the iconic kick technique all showcase their commitment to bringing the beloved characters to life.
