The series introduces Haruka Asahina, portrayed by the talented Anan Furuya. Haruka is a high school student who competes in F4 for Komaki Motors while working part-time as a newspaper delivery boy. Alongside him is Kōya Madoka, played by the esteemed Katsuyuki Konishi. Kōya is a freelance photographer striving to revive his struggling career. Their paths intertwine at a Super GT race held at Fuji Speedway, where they seize the opportunity to join forces and pursue their dreams.

Unveiling the Voices Behind the Characters

Anan Furuya takes on his first main character role in Overtake!. Previously, he showcased his skills in supporting roles in anime such as Dawn of the Witch, Futsal Boys!!!!!, and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (Japanese dub). Meanwhile, Katsuyuki Konishi, renowned for his memorable performances as Kamina in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Laxus Dreyar in Fairy Tail, brings his expertise to Kōya. With his recent appearance in the ongoing football series Blue Lock, Konishi is no stranger to sports roles.

Ei Aoki, known for directing Fate/Zero and Aldnoah.Zero, helms the directorial role for Overtake!. His most recent work is Id:Invaded, released in 2020. TROYCA, the studio responsible for Aldnoah.Zero and Bloom Into You, steps into the world of sports anime with Overtake!. As the studio celebrates its tenth anniversary, many of the staff who worked on Aldnoah.Zero have reunited for this special project.
