Announcing Tsui no Sora’s Remake Fan Translation: A Dream Come True!

Today, on July 20th, 2023, we have some exciting news to share with all you manga and anime lovers! A group of dedicated fan translators has officially announced the translation project for the beloved eroge game, Tsui no Sora (Remake).

This thrilling announcement comes on the auspicious day known as the “End Sky Day,” which coincides with a cataclysmic event in the games Tsui no Sora, Tsui no Sora Remake, and Wonderful Everyday ~Diskontinuerliches Dasein~. With Frontwing’s successful localization of the latter title in 2017, it quickly became a fan favorite.

Tsui no Sora (Remake) is, as the name suggests, a remake of the original 1999 masterpiece from KeroQ, known as one of the three big denpa titles. The other two titles in this distinguished trio are CRAFTWORK’s Sayonara o Oshiete ~comment te dire adieu~ and DUKE’s Jisatsu no Tame 101 no Houhou. What sets Tsui no Sora (Remake) apart is its exclusive extra content, which is only available within the Subarashiki Hibi ~Furenzoku Sonzai~ 10th Anniversary Special Edition, released on December 25th, 2020.

Tsui no Sora (Remake) retains the core storyline about the end of the world, much like the captivating “Down the Rabbit Hole 2” chapter in Subahibi. However, it delves deeper into character routes, offering enhanced character development for beloved figures like Yasuko, Kotomi, Zakuro, and Ayana. The script in the remake is a whopping 150% larger than the original 1999 version, making it a truly remarkable work in its own right.

Now, let’s take a look at the fascinating history behind the translation projects for this game. Initially, there was an early attempt by GambsVNs, the owner of r/visualnovels. Unfortunately, due to unfavorable comments from certain individuals and some undesirable social media incidents at the time, the project faced a significant setback. Disheartened, GambsVNs abandoned the project, stating that “English speakers did not deserve this translation.” However, after years of dormancy, a new group led by the passionate duo of PhantomZero99 and Ribbiwawaa has emerged, ready to take up the challenge.
