As Fairy Tail 485 kicks off, Natsu finds himself intrigued by the mysterious wizard, August. Lucy chimes in, advising against starting a fight. Brandish, on the other hand, believes that anyone who tries to battle August is doomed to be annihilated instantly. Surprisingly, Brandish describes August as a gentle person, someone you can have a proper conversation with, despite his unwavering loyalty to the emperor.

Though Brandish is unsure how to convince him to stop, Mest/Doranbolt becomes suspicious and decides to keep a watchful eye on them. Lucy raises the question of how they will reach August, to which they decide to employ an interesting tactic: making Happy enormous. With Happy’s help, they can travel much faster.

Mavis and Cana’s Plan

Meanwhile, Mavis and Cana are still working on their plan. Mavis instructs Cana to intensify their attacks in order to destroy the ice and her own body. But Cana hesitates, unable to attack her own nakama, even if Mavis is just a ghostly presence. Mavis comments on how similar Cana is to her deceased best friend, Zeera. In a funny moment, Mavis forgets what she was saying as she remembers Cana’s fondness for alcohol.

Mavis reminds Cana that the only way to save their friends is for her to use her ability to shatter the crystal coffin and set Mavis free. Elsewhere, Sting is feeling down, doubting his chances of victory. But Yukino slaps some sense into him, reminding him that now is the time for him to be the support everyone needs.

The Lion’s Roar

Sting musters up confidence and rallies those who are still able to fight. He declares that the lions, referring to themselves, have been hungry for too long and that this is their first meal in five days. Members of Blue Pegasus join in, expressing their willingness to fight alongside them. Minerva and everyone else prepare for a counterattack.

The Battle Commences

The clash begins as Gajeel and Bradman launch attacks at each other. Gajeel taunts Bradman, asking him how it feels to be crucified. And just as the chapter comes to a close, Fairy Tail 486, titled “The Fourth Guest,” teases us with something unexpected.
