Fecomic Presents: Food Wars Season 3 – An Epic Battle for the Best Wings in Lebanon Valley!

food wars season 3

Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

Welcome to the third season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley “Wing Wars.” Four entrants from across the Valley will compete, bracket style, to be declared the winner of the Best Wing in The Valley.

(In case you missed it, the winner of Season One was the Red-Headed League, which has since closed, and the winner of Season Two was the Gin Mill.)

Sinkhole Saloon & Grille: Our First Stop

Wing Wars Season 3: Sinkhole Saloon

This restaurant and bar has been around for around 15 years. They have bar seating along with a couple of dining areas, and can be accessed from the outside as well as from within the Palmyra Bowling Center.

Today, we ordered four wing flavors: habanero BBQ, sink-fil-a, sriracha ranch garlic parm, and Middlesworth BBQ rub. Our order consisted of 10 wings each ($15), and for an additional $0.50, you can split/mix wing sauces.

The wings arrived, boasting a good size and a crispy texture, with fresh and moist meat.

As for the sauces, Sinkhole Saloon takes pride in making most of their wing sauces in-house. With 25+ sauces and seven rubs to choose from, there’s something for everyone’s taste buds.

The habanero sauce brings the heat, while the sink-fil-a is their unique take on Chick-fil-A sauce, featuring a more mustard flavor with a hint of tang. However, the star of the show was the Sriracha ranch garlic parm sauce, which perfectly balanced all the flavors.

Our final impression:

  • Nice crispy wings.
  • Plenty of flavor options.
  • Quality sauces that are mostly made in-house.
  • Wednesday wing special: $11 for 10 wings.

Next, we will head over to our other entrants: The Franklin House, Cocktails Kitchen + Bar, and Keener Poultry. After visiting each establishment, we will announce the ultimate winner.

If you have a restaurant that you would like us to visit or review, whether it’s a place you love or are hesitant to try, please message us or email [email protected]. We appreciate all the recommendations and kind words we have received.

Stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion of Food Wars Season 3, where the battle for the Best Wing in Lebanon Valley will reach its fiery climax!
