Poputepipikku Episode 3: A Rollercoaster of Laughter and Surprises!

poputepipikku episode 3

Have you ever had a change of heart about something? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me after watching the third episode of Poputepipikku. In my previous review, I may have been a bit too harsh on the show, but now I can confidently say that it has won me over. This quirky anime has managed to weave its way into my heart and leave me wanting more.

Relatability at Its Finest

The episode starts off with a relatable gag that will have you chuckling in no time. Popuko, one of the main characters, gets tricked by her blanket into sleeping instead of facing her responsibilities. Haven’t we all experienced something similar? This simple joke manages to capture the essence of everyday struggles and brings a sense of joy to the show.

A Rollercoaster Documentary

The main gag of this episode takes the form of a captivating documentary. We witness how Pipimi, Popuko’s partner in crime, transforms her into a Japanese idol. At first, people despised her, but as time goes on, she becomes an unexpected sensation. The way this story unfolds is both hilarious and fascinating. I won’t give away any more details, but I highly recommend watching this sketch for yourself.

A Hysterical Homage

The episode culminates in a sketch that had me laughing uncontrollably. It parodies a famous comic strip called “30 minutes and you’re dead.” If you’re a fan of Dragon Ball Z, you’ll recognize the reference to Frieza setting a timer to destroy a planet. What makes it even better is that the voice actors for Frieza and Cell, two iconic villains from the Dragon Ball Z series, voice the characters of Popuko and Pipimi. This unexpected crossover brought a whole new level of enjoyment to the show.

Appreciating the Humor

All in all, I must say that the third episode has truly turned things around for Poputepipikku in my eyes. The humor is more relatable, and they are adapting some of the best comic strips from the manga. I find myself appreciating this show a lot more now.

In my previous review, I gave the show a less favorable rating. However, after watching this episode, I would confidently give it an 8 out of 10. If you haven’t already, be sure to catch up on the previous episodes and watch this one to see the improvement for yourself.

So, what are you waiting for? Don’t miss out on the infectious laughter and surprises that await you in Poputepipikku. Trust me, it’s worth every minute!
